Wynwood gets new Parking Garage

A 428 spaces Parking Garage will be built in Wynwood.

A mixed use project will go forward in the fast growing Wynwood.

A  $22 million loan has been obtained by its developers, affiliates of Goldman Properties.

The 21,000+ sq. ft. land is located between NW 26 and 27Th Street. Goldman Properties, based in Miami Beach

is a prime promoter who helped transform Wynwood into an Arts and Entertainment District, and a preferred

Miami neighborhood and the chosen place for the young crowd. At this time it is a pole of attraction for residential and office projects.

 

The mixed use project will include an eight floor parking garage, which will be a blessing for visitors of Wynwood.  The building will also dedicate about 23,000 sq. ft. to offices and 20,000 sq. ft. of retail spaces.

The Wynwood development is expected to break ground in the first week of May 2017 and should be completed in the fall of 2018.

The owner of the Gulfstream Park race track land in Hallandale Beach,  Stronach Group, will present to the Hallandale Beach Planning and Zoning its planned project to build a 48,467 sq. ft. Cinemex movie theater on the mixed-use property.

The 996-seat luxury theater is projected to count as much as 11 screens.

The Cinemex concept is that food and drinks are served to moviegoers at their seats. The theater would be the Cinemex second in South Florida, after Brickell City Centre, which is opening this month.

Gulfstream Park is a 250-acre site at Hallandale Beach Boulevard and South Federal Highway. The redevelopment plan for the park, approved roughly 10 years ago, allowed  Gulfstream owners to add a large mixed-use component to complement the well-known Gulfstream horse racing complex adding casino facilities. Subsequently, with the Gulfstream Village, a large shopping and entertaining center with upscale retail stores, multiple restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, Gulfstream has become the main recreational feature in Hallandale Beach.

The partially-implemented redevelopment plan for Gulfstream allows for up to 2,500 theater seats. The Cinemex theater will surely represent unique features, such as  auditorium “comfort seating” and an upscale food concession, with a bar and a lobby are with dining facilities. Two of the movie auditoriums will be on the second level of the building. Parking for moviegoers should use the existing spaces at the complex.

Although the theater development had been included in the redevelopment plan, residents have voiced concerns about traffic congestion in the vicinity of the park.

The city of Hallandale Beach had considered buying land from Gulfstream with the purpose of adding another road access within the park which would partially solve the traffic issues on the corner of Federal Highway and Hallandale Beach Boulevard. But Hallandale Beach’s director of development services, informed that these traffic issues are not relevant to the Cinemex project.

“There won’t be any requirement that land would be given up for a road as a condition of building the new theater, he said.”  “The city is still considering buying land at Gulfstream for a new road in the future, and the purchase will not be done by eminent domain, even though this method of acquisition has been considered in the past.”

Brickell City Centre planning to op in time for the holidays

Brickell City Centre’s 500,000-square-foot shopping cente r is planning to open in November. So far, it seems that at least seventy retail stores and restaurants will be ready.

The open-air center should be inaugurated just in time for shopping season, as South Florida is invaded by the annual winter tourists and the busiest months for Florida’s festival such as Art Basel, and the Boat Show unwind.

On 9 acres in the Brickell area, on S. Miami Avenue, the mammoth structure will host more than 5 million sq. ft. of commercial and residential space in the Miami Financial  District.

RISE, one of the two residential tower, as well as the East Hotel, are expected to open soon.  The second residential tower REACH, is also advancing.

A second Office Building will be added to Brickell City Centre: Two Brickell City Centre. It is expected to open soon. The hotel component, East Miami should be ready later this month. Two Brickell City Centre, is also in its final construction phase. There will also be a third one: Three Brickell City Centre.

At its final stage, Brickell City Center will be the largest retail Mall in the Miami Downtown area.
